What is the best cargo company in Bali?
There is no single best cargo company in Bali, because the right choice depends on what you are shipping. Judge a forwarder on four things you can verify before you book: whether they hold their own customs brokerage licence or subcontract it, whether they quote the landed total including destination charges rather than freight alone, whether they have staff at the destination end of your route, and whether they will put the transit time in writing. How much does it cost to ship cargo from Bali?
Sea freight from Bali is priced on volume. For LCL you pay per cubic meter or per ton, whichever is higher, so a light bulky shipment is charged by the space it occupies. For FCL you pay a flat rate for the whole container regardless of how full it is. The break even between the two usually falls between thirteen and fifteen cubic meters for a 20 foot container. How long does shipping from Bali take?
Domestic sea freight within Indonesia typically runs three to seven days port to port. International sea freight depends entirely on the lane, commonly two to five weeks to Australia, Europe or North America. Air freight is two to five days. Those figures are transit time only. Add the container cut off, which closes two to three days before the vessel sails, plus customs clearance at both ends. Plan backwards from the date the cargo must arrive, not forwards from the day you hand it over.
Do I need a freight forwarder to export from Bali?
Legally you can arrange an export yourself, but you will need an export licence, a customs broker, a carrier booking and the full document set including invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading. A forwarder does all of that as one service and carries the relationships with carriers that get space during peak season. For a first export, the paperwork is where most shipments stall, not the shipping itself.
What documents do I need to export cargo from Indonesia?
At minimum: a commercial invoice, a packing list, and a bill of lading or air waybill. Depending on the goods and the destination you may also need a certificate of origin, a fumigation certificate for wooden packaging, a phytosanitary certificate for plant based goods, and an export permit for restricted categories. The most common cause of delay is not a missing document but a mismatch between them, for example a packing list that does not match the invoice.
Does Jalak Kargo handle customs clearance?
Yes, customs brokerage is handled in house for both export and import, not subcontracted. That matters because when a shipment is queried at customs, the answer comes from the same team that booked the freight rather than from a third party you have no contract with.
Which cities does Jalak Kargo operate in?

Can you ship furniture and handicraft from Bali overseas?
Yes, and it is one of the most common shipments out of Bali. Furniture and handicraft are bulky, fragile and often irregular in shape, so they are crated on site around the piece rather than packed into standard cartons. Wooden packaging bound for most countries needs ISPM 15 treatment and a fumigation certificate, which is arranged as part of the booking.
