As Indonesia firmly asserts its place on the global maritime tourism map, Pelindo has officially been groundbreaking the Bali Benoa Marina – a centrepiece of the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub. The project is being executed under the stewardship of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (Pelindo’s subholding), focused on logistics and hinterland development.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Thursday, was a momentous occasion, attended by high-ranking government officials including the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, and Bali’s Deputy Governor, I Nyoman Giri Prasta. Their presence underscored the multi-sectoral commitment to transforming Bali into a globally recognized maritime tourism destination.
Envisioned as a world-class, full-service marina, the Bali Benoa Marina is set to become a premium gateway for international yachting and maritime tourism, aligning closely with national efforts to develop sustainable, high-quality tourism. Spanning 3.3 hectares, the Bali Benoa Marina will be developed across three zones featuring integrated green spaces and advanced berthing facilities, with capacity for 180 yachts.
Pelindo’s Strategy Director, Prasetyo, emphasized that the marina marks a pivotal chapter in the company’s transformation journey. “BMTH will become a central node in Indonesia’s maritime tourism network. We’re building more than just berths — we’re crafting a seamless, premium sailing experience that positions Indonesia as a competitive force in global maritime tourism.”
Ruri I. Rachmaputri, SPSL’s Commercial & Technical Director, noted that strategic partnerships are key. “We’re working with top-tier partners to ensure this marina meets international standards, prioritizing environmental sustainability and economic impact.”
Initial operations are scheduled for late 2025, with full completion, including all supporting facilities, expected by 2027. Once operational, Bali Benoa Marina aims to be a magnet for superyachts and a key driver of economic growth, not only for Bali but for Indonesia’s broader maritime sector.
